I feel that people really don't know about know how physical anxiety can get.
Its really funny with anxiety, its like you don't think you have anxiety until you have real responsibilities and sh*t to do. After that, you notice that anxiety really gets in the way. I want to talk about what anxiety is, physically.
I feel funny talking about something that personally affects me. I'm not quite sure if its appropriate. But, whatever.
So what can anxiety do to you physically?
Common Symptoms
You can have panic attacks
Long term stress
Upset stomach (much worse than it sounds)
Excessive sweating
Dizziness
Hot and cold flashes
Lets get into the (really neat) more uncommon symptoms of anxiety
Depression ( That, well that's just great isn't it D: )
You need to pee more often (This happens to me, its actually really annoying. Especially during a test...!)
Eye pain
Headache(I actually thought it was really common...apparently not.)
skin rashes( o.o )
The feeling that your not in your own body ( referred to as depersonalization)
Becoming to in tune with body, so noticing really small discomforts and feeling strongly about those discomforts.
Other Symptoms:
Almost all of this is caused by stress. It is truly ridiculous what stress can do to your body.
These symptoms suck but you can't die. Feels like your are and you might want to... but you wont. What a tease!
Another thing I wanted to mention is how it's really hard to know the difference between the symptoms of anxiety and the results of not taking care of your physical needs. Dehydration can cause a headache or dizziness and too much coffee can make you jittery and have too pee. So, I have no freaking clue whats wrong with me most of time.Symptoms can also be both not taking care of yourself and anxiety, so that just makes it more confusing.
That's all I really wanted to talk about, the physical symptoms. If I talked about causes, options and anxiety statistics, I'd be up all night typing. It just your mind can really cause you a ton of bodily harm. That's all I really wanted to make a point of. I know I'm being hypocritical. However, you should should avoid unnecessary stress to avoid anxiety. Try to find something that calms you down and do whatever that is often (well, as often as you can.)
Anyways, I'd really like to some opinions on this. Have you experienced any of these symptoms? Why do you think people get anxiety?
I think everyone's experienced at least one of the symptoms of anxiety at some time or another (if not, you're one lucky person). Stress is a common factor in life and it seems that anxiety just goes along with it. I think my anxiety symptoms tend to vary depending on the amount of stress I'm under. Headaches/eye pain are a huge symptom for me when I'm super stressed, and then for small stresses I tend to just be slightly antsy.
