Final blog post! You may have not enjoyed reading about random sicknesses but I really liked writing about them. I want to say how great my blog groups blogs have been. Your all so cool and insightful.
For my final blog, I really wanted to give you four tips about your responsibility as a patient:
1.
As a patient, because you'll all get sick at some point and have to see someone for help. I just want you to know that the doctor does not do all the work and to appreciate all the people that have dedicated their lives to make a difference.
2.
Educate yourself. There are so many resources available for you.Just because your not in medicine doesn't mean you can sit like a lump and know absolutely nothing about your body. You don't need to know everything but enough to understand how to stay healthy and enough to ask your health care provider good questions about your health.
Don't be like this lump.
3.
Just as a patient you have responsibility for your health, people in healthcare care but they are not your family they will not chase you to get your blood tested or to take your pills on time. Just take advantages of your health resources
4.
The internet is an OK resource for information on health, but not a good resource.
Basically you end up with overexerted opinions on what you might have. Go to a family health site and see what they recommend. Here's my family clinics resource page:
www.andrewstfamilyhealth.com/Links.html
The most common bad resource is WebMD and, of course theirs many jokes around the inter web about WebMD:
I always thought WebMD was legitimate but apparently not. This is all very ironic because I used the internet for my blog (* o * )
I guess that's all.
Thanks for reading and I hope you all stay healthy.
This was a fun blog, albeit depressing sometimes. Illness isn't exactly happy though. It was educational and now I'm slightly more of a hypochondriac than I was before. And I know what you mean when you say that the internet isn't a good resource for health stuff. Headache = brain tumor on Yahoo Answers. But yeah! It was cool to see your opinions on things too. Not sure what else to add so bye.
