You know how in the last post I talked about how nurses are unappreciated?
Well, turns out patients dont like doctors either! SO HA.
I really feel we are entering a time where healthcare will be sorely unappreciated, and doctors will slowly loose respect from society.
Why? well maybe its the media portrayal of doctors. But that's a different topic altogether.
Here's a fun (made-up) script to show you what I mean:
*doctor walks in, hasn't said anything*
*doctor walks in, hasn't said anything*
OMG Where WERE YOU IVE BEEN WAITIN’ SO DAMN LONG OMG IM IN SO
MUCH PAIN I FEEL SO SICK YOU SUCK WHERE WERE YOU, I BET YOU WERE PLAYING GOLF
WITH YOUR RICH FRIENDS
So can you tell me what been bothering you? Any symptoms you
can tell me about?
I DON’T KNOW YOU’RE THE DOCTOR MAN HOW THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED
TO KNOW. YEA, WTF. ALSO I HAVE A HEADACHE.
(Doesn’t have any information for a real diagnosis)
So, I’m going to recommend you to a specialist.
(At this point the patient starts to bitch about how “meds are expensive and “Don’t you know I’m busy”. That whole
bit.)
And as the doctor, who was not playing golf with friends. Who, was probably working the night shift at the hospital until about 11:00 AND got his ass up early in the morning make his 7:00am clock shift at the clinic and then might of gotten busy with about ten other patients before your 7:30am appointment. OH and because doctors are people with people needs; they may have gone home and had to:

eat
dinner (hopefully)
bath (maybe)
possibly spend time with family(probably not).
Hangout/make some friends? ( just...no. Hell no.)

And then they go to bed, wake up tired and have to deal with grouchy patients.
Obviously all patients aren't grouchy. But, it really only
takes one mean patient to ruin your day.
But, really lots of people complain about their doctors. There not magic, you need to educate yourself about your health too!! Its your heath, doctors are there to help but your the one who has to commit to being healthy.

My point is: be patient with your doctor, and for gods sake thank them
for their time when you leave. Maybe slip in a “gee you’re a great doctor”,
that would make their week. (Or not LOL,try it anyways). Its just I wish we appreciated nurses, doctors and people who sacrifice there own lives for the sake of their community. Instead we want to be like rich losers on T.V
Being a doctor is a job of sacrifice. You have to love it, you have to love the people, you have to love medicine. Like why do more people know more about Beyonces stupid water diet than their own doctors name or how take care of there own body
Just wanted to give you all a break from reading about gross things.
Oh and a quick side be happy we're not American because they don't have country wide health care. They have to pickpocket their insurance companies:

Ahahah, you bet your ass it doesn't.
Yea so lets just end this by laughing at America.
Again, DON'T BE A JERK...to your doctor (or anyone really).

I don't think I could ever be a doctor. They really do get the short end of the stick with the whole "dealing with disgruntled people" thing. Patients think that their problem is always the most important and therefore they should be taken care of first, but a doctor can't control that. Sometimes there just aren't enough doctors to do all the work and see all the patients that need to be seen and that's not their fault. Also, they're doctors not psychics so people need to learn how to communicate their problems instead of getting mad when the doctor can't diagnose them on the spot going off the information that they "feel crappy"
