I just wanted to take a moment and rant about people who "want to go in to healthcare" because "they want to make a difference
If you say you want to go into "medicine" and the only two things you have in mind are doctor and surgeon. You suck. There are so many job that people label as "menial" because people in those jobs don't make a six figure salary. All those jobs are important. The doctor can't take the blood, the calls and charge you for your medicine. There's receptionists, pharmacists and nurses do those things. All these people are smart. Just because you don't have a stupid title doesn't mean your job doesn't make a difference.
In my opinion, you could be a Tim Horton's worker for you entire life and if your nice and wish people a good day and make them feel better than when they walked in. You'd be making more people smile than a bad doctor.
Its I find medicine is one of the most saturated for the concept of "making a difference" and being "successful" crap like that creates unnecessary competition for people who really want to go into medicine. I great to get paid more. especially if you've invested so much money and time. But it seems the more money and status a job has the more weirdos do for the fame and glory.
I just think that if you care about something, go for it. Forget about people who say you cant do it or that its a dumb job. You care about it and that above all will set you apart. It's the fact that if you care about a career its worth the effort to go into to it.

I think that sometimes people go into health care without the passion for it because they feel that will earn them more money. But like you said, you should go for a job that you care about! Doesn't matter if it pays the most, even thought that's what society tends to steer you towards.
